Help for Casey

My dear friend Casey has been informed that his cancer has returned. This comes after losing his home & job to Hurricane Katrina the very month after making his final house payment.

He was one of many whose insurance claim for damages was denied by their insurance company.

He went through a long hospitialization last year for his cancer, then suffered through many chemo treatments which left him physically and mentally devastated.

He and his wife had already lost their health insurance that had been provided through their employer and found themselves deep in debt with medical bills. Although they were able to find employment after the hurricane, neither of them were able to find a job that would offer health insurance.

He was forced to quit his job shortly after due to his cancer making life even more of a struggle for them.

He is now being hospitalized over 4 hours from their home.

She fears that missing time from work to be with him, may cause her to lose her job and the expense of traveling 4 hours cross-state to be with him is also a burden. Not to mention the time it takes to make the trip and the physical drain on her on top of the emotions.
