Let's Start With Your MOS Page

Your mos page is your office. How do you want to represent your business?

Start with a great picture! If you don't have a picture ad a graphic that represents you or your business. Either way, you are making a mental impression on your visitors and they will begin to remember you by name in other areas of the network.

Add a page title. Above your pic is a page title. When you put your cursor over it, it will highlight, click on it and backspace the current text...add a motto, a business name or something that represents your business personality.

How does your page look? Change the appearance of your page from the default setting so it stands out. A splash of color and little bit of design goes a long way.

Your Profile Questions. What do you want to say to your visitor, what do you want them to know about you? Filling out the profile questions is great for making your first impression to other members. Make sure you add your links and bio.

The text box. This is a great feature that really turns your page into it's own. You can add banners, hotmail, pictures, videos ...just about anything you want to catch the eye of your visitor.

Adding photos. This can be personal or business, either way, giving your visitor more to learn about you the better!

Blogs!!! Say anything and everything, this is your story, your ad, your exposure...make the best of it. All Blogs (1-20 most recent) filter to the hompage...add a blog daily if you want.

P.S.
The profile pic area of Ning networks sometimes chops off the top portion of any given image uploaded depending on its size. Check to make sure your head is not chopped off once your image is uploaded. If so, resize the graphic down. You may need to properly crop the image first. A size of 210 x 210 is perfect.

I would like to see the TEXT BOX appear on my page above all else. I believe you have the only power to make that happen ad is global. Currently the LATEST ACTIVITY is atop and TEXT BOX just below. On MY page, this makes the feature video, my unique page's attraction into less attractive than when IT is atop. Is there a way for me to make that happen, or is that power all you?

Thank you Andrew for the added comment on the picture size...great point.

I have brought up the layout issue in The Network Creators forum, I too would like to see a drag and drop box feature so that the user has more control of the order and layout of their page. At this time, you could disable your pages activity feed to zero, so that your text box appears higher. That is my only suggestion at this time in configuring a better layout.

Funny how we sharpen each other on networks. Just like that. I knew that but without YOUR comments and content, I would have left it in my sub-conscious. We have the ability to pull out to surface the best in each other!

This is great! I did not know all this stuff about my page LOL

So tell me, the 'text' box... where I can add a banner... is that the part that says "about me" or did I miss it entirely???

the text box is located underneath the activity feed, it will say "myouterspace box" however, yes your "about me" field can also hold banners and hotmail code. A vertical banner or a 125x125 would be best since the box will not stretch to show a full 460 banner.
