Cost-Efficient AIT-3 Media Tape
AIT 3 tape cartridge contains RMIC memory, whose purpose is to store the index of the all the data that has been written onto the tape. Another index is held by AIT-3 tape media which is located in the system area. The index in RMIC is the duplicate of the system area’s index. This index information is used by the WORM technology so that over-writing on stored data could be prevented in AIT 3 WORM cartridge. RMIC chip also utilizes a fast search map. The stored information and search map in the RMIC chip boosts the bi-directional searching process of the AIT 3 tape drive.
AIT 3 is ideal for those organizations that are facing the challenge of accommodating greater backup volumes, and faster data recoveries at lower costs. AIT-3 is the optimum tape technology for interactive applications due to its faster load, rewind & seek times. Capacity of AIT3 backup tape is 100GB / 260 GB.
